“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NASB
When you sit here alone, waiting for the tears to gush out, who will come out of their hiding, of the busyness of life to be a friend? The faces around you are just faces, a mere image of the outside, but never opening up to reveal what’s within. Familiar, that’s what they are, yet they are not known nor have they known, let alone desired to know. Words are all you get from them, but a gesture to paint the outline is rarely seen. So here you sit, hoping, hoping for a new scenario, hoping for a true friend, one who’s actions give life to their words, one whose love will warm a heart that’s grown cold. Here you sit, waiting in Hope, waiting for a friend.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12
